Ref:(Hot Back is very slow)
Hi,
Our hot back up has been fast , but now a days it is becomming slow, taking hours.
Could some clear my following queries please.
1. What exactly happens when the tablespace goes offline?.
2. More read and write operations effects in performance of hot backup?, if it effects then how?.
Thanks,

What is the difference between the old and new timings?

How is that relevant to hot backup? Performing hot backup does not imply your tablespaces have to be offline!

Ans. The database will remain available for other tablespaces. No transactions can be done on offline tablespace.

Ans. In Hot backup, redo logs are generted in greater qty.Do't put all tablespaces in Hot backup mode in one go. Do it in step by step.
