    yep already done that

    Hey pando have you actually tested it. One benifit i could find was that you can read data from a leftout datafile that could not be opened by a database due to one or the other reason. But extracting data from the datafile is one tedious job.

    no, I have not, too lazy to read the manual.... probably will try it sometimes next week

    to extract data they use data unloader or DUL, an Oracle Consulting tool

    I stand corrected. Got my information obout BBED not being included in 9i distribution from some note/article by Rama Velpuri, a world wide renowned Oracle guru. Obviously he got wrong information too.
