Hi Friends

I am seeing some problem in My Alert file i.e.,

Sat Nov 18 12:13:20 2000
Errors in file h:\ORANT\RDBMS73\trace\ORA00274.TRC:
ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure

why is this.Is this a serious one?Is there any way to resolve this problem.

did the smon also crash?, if so check the smon_0... file for what caused the error. Looks like some network issue. Is this the first time that it had occoured? if so, you could safly monitor it.

I am seeing this error once in a few days.My database is v7 running on Windows Nt.
