    RMAN hotline backup

    HI
    iam new to RMAN. i like to take hotline backup with controfile ,archive logs file and restore the DB in some other host (Host A to host B) using RMAN. is there any procedure or script available?

    May be you meant hotbackup or online backup.

    which the difference between hotbackup and online backup?

    i mean online backup using RMAN (datafiles,control file ,archive logs & spfile).

    Why RMAN not taking redo log file backup?

    RMAN never backs up online redo files because it is unnecessary.
