How to get Oracle 9i?
Hi! I've just begun studying for Associate certification and I can't seem to get a copy of the software to try experientially what I'm learning. I've tried to download software from the OTC section of Oracle's web domain, but downloads keep timing out. Are they mirrored anywhere?
Anybody have a better solution?
Is there a way to make MySQL accept Oracle specific SQL statements?
regards,
Darcy

For somewhere around $40, you can order the CD's from Oracle at http://store.oracle.com

ebay is also a good place to pick up the CDs

OTN, right. Yeah, I've been going here:
http://otn.oracle.com/software/produ...s/winsoft.html
And it's from there that all 3 downloads just keep stopping mid-download. Disk 1 usually dies at 250mb, disk 2 almost always at 8mb and disk 3 never starts.
I'll check out their store. Thanks for all your recommendations! I welcome others.
**update**
Ok, I just need enough to get me through Associate Certification and for now I'm just doing the SQL part. Is this CD pack enough? Will it work on WinXP Home?

Maybe this one is better : (seems to be mostly 32-bit)

**update 9/4**
Went to the download page for release 9.01 instead and all their disks downloaded just fine. I've installed it on WinXP Home and everything seems to be working. Thanks for all your help!

Darcy
