    Rac & Logical Stanby Databases

    Hi,

Is it possible to have a 2 node RAC database going to a single instance logical standby or does the logical standby have to be RAC also ? If it doesn't have to be RAC 2 node as well, how is this done ? Each node creates archive log files, how are they applied to the logical standby ? Would I HAVE to use dataguard for this ?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

This is possible, you can have RAC in primary Database and single instance in Standby Database or RAC in two nodes. The Oracle Data Guard is used for to make connection between two nodes. The logs are applied using the LOG APPLY SERVICE.
