    sys user not connected

    Hi DBAs

    I wanted to connect the sys user from my client oracle.
    But i could not connect it.The following error i got.

    connect sys/change_on_install@dovelink

    error:
    ORA-01925: maximum of 20 enabled roles exceeded


    Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

    But i could connect the user in server.

    increase the parameter max_enabled_roles to a higher value.

    Hello Thomas,

    My DB is production one, can i change it when instance is running.
    If i shut the DB, my user will be getting prob in the morning.

    give some idea Thomas.

    You can definitly change it while the instance is running but it will take effect only after you bounce the DB.
