suggestion required for Reports

Hi All,

I have a Report developed in Excel which connects to about 30 databases and fetches data.what happens is when ever this report is run it consumes a lot of CPU resources and all other operations become very slow.Any suggestions of how else can the report be developed?
Is there any alternative to get the output in Excel developed with aome other s/w?

My databases are running on 8.0.5 and the OC is HP Unix 10.2.
I do know of the options of explain plan I just wanted to know if there is a faster way of developing reports rather than use Ora Excel?

all depends on wha you want to get out of them and what tools are available to use.

i've seen reports run from excel really quickly. You need to trace to code to see why its taking too long and using too many resources
