    details log_archive_format %S

    Hi all,
I don't find any information about the number of digit when you choose %S.

I heard a problem (NT or Unix, both) about limitation of the number generated by ARCH

Have you informations : N° bug, OS, version of Oracle...

    thanks

This was a known isue on Win$ platforms. When specifying %S, oracle used 5 digits number (right-zero padded). Bug no.: 642437. Se also metalink note 125146.1 to find out how they "fixed" it in patches and in later releases (trimming leftmost number instead of rightmost one).

Releases affected: many Oracle7, 8, 8i releases - unles appropriate patches were applied. I think it is fixed in 9i.
