Question How to install 9i client on a shared disk / file server

    Hi,

Can anybody point me to a link which can guide me in installing the 9i client to a shared disk or file server that can be access by multiple users. Is this possible?

    Thanks,

    Ed

Mount the NFS directory on a system.
    Install the software on it
then mount it on all the other systems.

Can your provide me a more detail info on how to go about this. I am planning on creating this setup on a Windows NT server and several NT Clients.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
    1. Install the oracle 9i client on the Windows NT server.
    2. Share the folder where the oracle 9i client software in installed. (on server)
    3. On NT clients, now map the shared folder.
    4. On server, create a shortcut for the sql*plus program.
    5. Copy this shortcut to all NT clients.

BTW, you may run into performance issues with a lot of network traffic. IMHO, it would be better to install 9i client s/w on all NT clients.

    HTH.
