Patches not supplied by Oracle.. Can it do?

Why oracle is not giving patches
    for some of the introductions
to their older versions to get upgraded.

Like the NVL2 function which is not available
    in oracle 8.

It will be useful for the users who wont
like to upgrade from their versions.

    Regards
    Giri

if you are under ATS from oracle, you will get the patch. Since Oracle as stopped support for 8 longback, better to speak to a any local Oracle Partner. You might not get the patch if you are out of support.
