I have the information from within Oracle, if it is true or not we will see after the release of 10i/10G. All that I know is that you can just give Oracle the mount points/directories that are for use.

Cool 10G Beta code is out on limited release

I am looking at the Beta documentation and so far I am not impressed with this "Major Release". There seems to be a lot more marketing than substance in this release. I was more impressed with the 8i to 9i jump. 10G so far looks more like improvements/refinement. I was expecting more . . . (maybe I should be lower my expectations )

Who knows I am installing 10G beta later in the week time permitting. Anyone else got thoughts on the beta?

Hi Erik, where from did you get the 10G beta documentation. Would you please email me the source?

People think the G is a reference to the word Grid as in "Grid Computing".

Actually it's a reference to the "National Grid" because with all the servers you're going to need to run RAC, App Server and Collaboration Suite you are going to drain the National Grid of electricity.

By the way, if anyone knows of any unscrupulous people who've mounted the CDs for the documentation and/or software to allow download I'd like to know. Got to get ready for the 10G upgrade exam

    Cheers
