    Dont get Panic.
    1. Create a new service name with the SID name of the database.
    2. Restart the service
    3. If the database donot starts, then connect as svrmgrl and manually start the database.

if the sid is DEMO, then

    c:\ oradim -new -sid DEMO

Then check in the services window, u have to find the service by name oracleserviceDEMO

Hope u should be able to do this.

On the server try set oracle_sid = yoursid

    then try...

    Also check..
    you network connection
compare your tnsnames.ora with that of the listener
use net8 utility to check /test connection to your db.
if succeeds it's ok if not configure the settigs within the net8 utility.

    Dear All,
I created Services which is working means I am able to start and stop without any error.I also set Oracle_sid, Oracle_home, TNS_admin and tried SVRMGRL
but still getting same erro means 12560.
I also edited TNSNAMES.ora file. But I am not able to use svrmgrl due to this error. I am using PORT 1527 (Which SAP supports)and it was working fine.
Pls suggest me what are remaing areas where can I look. My SAP server is down for 5 days due to this error.

    Regards,
