    accessing objects between schemas

    Hi all

    1. If you are running 2 instances on the same machine, how would a user/dba in one instance access an object in a schema of the other instance? My 2 instances are ora1 and ora2, ora1dba1 (of ora1) wants to access a table mat_npcb of the or81502 schema in ora2.

    2. What are the advantages of using a password file and when should one use one?

    Thanks

How do I create a database link between two instances? Could not find this info by searching the posts. Once the link is established, can I use it to grant priveleges on the objects in the schemas of each instance?
