    oracle 8i server stops responding...y?

    hi

    i m working on an oracle 8i server when 100 students try to log into the server at once it stops responding...but when we reduce the number to 25 it works fine...please be good enough to reply...thanks

    whats in the alert log? trace files? Version? OS?
    how many cpu's do you have? how much memory? how big is your SGA?

    What queries are they running? how big is the db?

    These are basic things which you should supply

    parameter file settings?

    Please be good enough to provide some basic details, you gave nothing which could help
