    "Self Tuning Memory" in Oracle 9i

    While installing Oracle 9.2, I notice the banner says

    "Easier and Cheaper to Manage:
    - Self Tuning Memory
    ..."

    I wonder to what degree it tunes itself? Can it tune optimally by itself?

    Hi,
    Oracle made the first steps; there are dba_views which gives hints for buffer_use and so on.
    * The undod-Ts is a step, automatic rollback-admin
    * Automatic space allocation in local managed tablespaces
    * Important is that in 10 i thru the use if SPFILE's the server can modifiy paramater-settings by itself.
