    Database takes long time to open up

    I'm having some problem in starting up databse. When I do startup, it hangs at database mount mode for 10-15min and eventually goes to database open mode. But when it's hanging at databse mount mode, if I go to sqlplus and see the status of database, it's up and running. Do you guys have any idea why this might happens? This is on Windows 2000 server with 8.1.7.4 database.

    Have you checked the alert log and others for any messages ???

    I don't get any errors...nothing shows up in alert.log. but if I kill using [ctrl+c] to stop the hanging mounted mode window command prompt, I do get error in alert.log. Of course, the databse is up and running like I tested.

    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 2
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JAVA", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 2
