ODMA won't start on NT
Hi all
I'm having a windows NT nightmare (as usual), I've just installed 9.2 on a windows NT server (Also has 8.1.7, 9iAS installed in seperate homes) and I'm trying to run the migration assistant but each time I try nothing happens.
There does not appear to be any errors reported in log files, there is nothing in the event viewer the app just simply won't start.
I have considered running the migration manually but it would require a lot of mucking about with path information on this particular box so that would really be a last resort.
Anybody come across this problem before and more importantly find a way to resolve it? (Other than hitting the box with a big stick )
Thanks in advance...

Hi Jim
Try changing the path variable and move the database path (having the ODMA) in front, also check for the classpath variable. Possiblity is that the ODMA is looking for JRE in wrong path.

Cheers Amar,
I checked the PATH statement, the correct values where in there. But I started a command window entered the PATH manually (for the 9i install only) and run the odma manually and that works.
Why it should make any difference I don't know but thats NT for ya!
Thanks for your help I was about ready to throw the box out the window.

This is standard procedure for NT boxes - suprised you didn't try it earlier

James,
You've gotta get a little friendly to the NT boxes. I mean if you keep that stance then it naturally asks for attention

I would have only they have put bars on the windows now, they say it's for security but I think it's to stop us throwing the NT servers out
