    Question Ora-1466

Hi i'm using 9.2 under W2K and get this message when i use export utility evene when there is no activity in database.

    EXP-00056: ORACLE error 1466 encountered
ORA-01466: unable to read data - table definition has changed
    . . exporting table ROUT_EXP 0 rows exported

but i don't understand the oracle error book and also EXP-0056 doesn't exist in alarms list.
thanks for help what should i do to get a complete backup

Are you performing a consistent export? If do, the table ROUT_EXP may have a creation date in the future. This can also be a problem when the server is configured to a fixed_date in the past.

You will have to drop and recreate the ROUT_EXP table if it does have a futuredate, but you can do this through a consistent=n export i believe.

    thanks for that it works!

    but 2 questions
how a table could be in the future? a modification done on this table since the beginning of the export?

and what is the problem to do an unconsistant backup instead of a consistant? only unfinish transaction.

    thanks
