    8i to 9i STANDBY Possible?

    Is this configuration workable using 8i standby features only?

    Primary - 8.1.7.4 on sun solaris 2.8
    Standby - 9.2.0 on linux Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1

    No, primary and standby must be the same configuration. That includes version of database server and patch level.
