    Renaming Database

    Hi,

    I need to rename a database which is a copy of production on a different server. I have found some instructions on metalink but I don't think they are in the right order (step by step) Oracle version is 8.1.7.4 Can someone please help if they have clearer instructions.

    What make you think they are in the wrong order? And what Metalink papaer are you talking about?

    I doubt that u clearly understand the instructions from Metalink.U need not require any thing other than them.First try to do it on a test machine by following the instructions from Metalink still u can't follow come up with specific problem.
