    Lightbulb MBA...good idea?

    Hi everybody...
I'm a qualified OCP (Oracle-style) and have been doing this database lark for about 5 years. I've been pretty successful - working for some large companies implementing and upgrading apps etc. However as my career streches before me i begin to wonder the possibilities...
One of the options i have is further studies - yet i don't really want a massive career change - i believe there is a future in IT yet! I've been toying with the idea of doing an MBA and hence moving into the 'business' side of things...
    Has anyone made this move?
Do you think its a good idea?
Would there be any opportunities upon completion?
    -------------------
Any ideas would be very helpful whether you've actually done the course itself or not...
    Many thanks!

Ummm nothing seems to deliver lately...

I don't know. A good friend of mine is about to finish his MBA here in the netherlands(RSM).

40% of students can't find places for interships, forget about anybody giving a damn about an MBA or whatever. But in the long run maybe it's a good idea. And if the schools can promise/guarantee interships/campus interviews(beleive me some of the mba schools are runnnig short of their clients given the fact that many have dissolved). It costs a lot of money to do an mba and it must help you get a job if it can't then it's a waste.

    But as of now,

    If you're working, keep working.
If your jobless, work your ass off to get one and then keep it.

    There's too much dirty water.
