    Unhappy Urgent - Log_Archive_Format Error

Dear Members, I have a strange problem with my archive logs. I'm facing it for the first time, may be I'm working on the windows platform on Oracle 8.1.6 Standard Edition . Earlier I used to work on Unix Platform. I have put the database into 'Archive Log' mode and set the log_archive_format=%%ORACLE_SID%%T%TS%S.ARC.
Then when the archives are being produced, There are entires also found in the AlertSID file. The errors are:

    Current log# 1 seq# 108509 mem# 0: E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\GHDB\REDO01.LOG
    Fri May 16 12:24:40 2003
    ARC1: Beginning to archive log# 4 seq# 108508
kcrrga: Warning. Log sequence in archive filename wrapped
to fix length as indicated by %S in LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT.
Old log archive with same name might be overwritten.
    ARC1: Completed archiving log# 4 seq# 108508

    Fri May 16 12:28:21 2003
Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 108512

Also when I'm querying from v$archived_log I'm getting:

    NAME SEQUENCE#
    -------------------------------------------------- ----------
    E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\GHDB\ARCHIVE\GHDBT001S08509.ARC 108509
    E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\GHDB\ARCHIVE\GHDBT001S08510.ARC 108510
    E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\GHDB\ARCHIVE\GHDBT001S08511.ARC 108511
    E:\ORACLE\ORADATA\GHDB\ARCHIVE\GHDBT001S08512.ARC 108512

The archive log files are not containing the whole name as mentioned in the log_archive_format=%%ORACLE_SID%%T%TS%S.ARC initSID.ora parameter file.
Please help as don't know when the archives will be over written.
