8i installation is not proceeding after the installation screen

Hi

I removed oracle 8.0.6 from my system and
I tried to install 8i into my system.

I copied the 8i cd and dumped into one folder.
When i double click the autorun, the install menu comes,
and When I click INSTALL button,
the installation is not starting.

Please suggest me on the normal cause of the errors.

Hi

The probable cause could be that some Oracle 8 components still exists in your system and/or local registry. Oracle Components should be removed using the deinstallation option using the Oracle 8 server CD. After deinstallation, check the registry for any Oracle components and then try to install Oracle 8i.
