How to rebuild the kernal for Oracle Installation on Linux
Hi,
For the installation of Oracle 8.1.6 on Red Hat Linux (7.2) after the setting the semaphores and shared memory paramters shoeul we require kernal rebuiding ? If so what si the command for that

change the values and then re-boot the machine

if you read the installation guide you would see they tell you how to do it, OKE!

Nope you dont attempt a kernel rebuild..just look at man sysctl :-)

Thanks for the reply...First time I am doing installtion on linux,with Unix we need to rebuild the kernal.But fot linux in the documents it is says "Write a script to initialize these values during system startup, and include the script in your system init files." Then i had a doubt once it has set and and restart should we include it it linux init file,it should automatically come into effect ..That is why I just asked....
