    shell script to execute .sql script

    Hi I am trying to execute a shell script under root on linux to execute a sql script which create schema tables on oracle 8i.

    ORA_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
    ORA_OWNER=oracle
    su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/sqlplus username/password@orasid @/usr/local/createtables.sql"
    exit

    but i am getting command not found error.

    Am i doing right ? please help.

    su - makes you read userīs profile, obviously ORA_HOME is not an Oracle userīs environment variable
