Import oracle 9i dmp in oracle 8i

Is there any way to import in oracle 8i the dump from oracle 9i.Has anybody done that?

Hi Drishti,

Try to issue the export of the 9i schema using the 8i exp utility.
If the 8i db and the 9i db are placed in differnt machines, update the tnsnames.ora so it can look at the 9i db, then from the 8i's machine execute: exp /@<9idb SID> ....
In this way,all the env parameters are belong to the 8i db during the export.
Now the dmp file suppose to be opened by the 8i import utility.
