granting sysdba privilege
hi
i get an error when i grant sysdba priviliege to any user for .eg. scott. it says user or role does not exist. this error is not through the oem but through sqlplus. it grants sysdba privilege through oem but when i query v$pwfile_users it only shows sys, internal having sysdba privileges and not for scott.
what could be the problem.
thanks

How many entries did you define for your password file?
Are you connect as a sysdba user when you issue the command?
"user or role does not exist" what is the exact command you are issuing and can you confirm the user does exist.
