    DBA Kick Start - Know How?

    Hello Everyone,

    Iam here for some help. Iam a senior Oracle Developer, I want to know about DBA since today the job market demands a Developer should also know the basic DBA job.

    I Really dunno where to start, i cannot afford to go for training at this moment, But ready to work hard at home.

    I require some advice on how to go about, i am planning to buy a computer at home and install oracle server pls tell me the spec of the computer i shud buy and i already have one with oracle PE. shud i have to make that as a client etc..etc if yes how?

    how to start where to start, i cannot see..any site or books for basic know how about DBA. all i see is advance stuff.

    pls recommend some books for basic and what are the things i shud do everyday (2-3) hrs interms of working on the server.

    i will really appreciate if u guys can..give me a step by step recommendation for the same.
