    Arrow Invalid Paaword file

I HAVE ORACLE DATABASE INSTALLED ON ONE MACHINE.I WANTED TO CREATE ANOTHER DATABASE NAMED TEST.AFTER CONFIGURING INIT.ORA FILE AND AFTER CREATING SERVICE WHEN I SET SID ON COMMAND LINE AS UNDER-
    C:>SET ORACLE_SID=TEST
    C:>SQLPLUS /NOLOG
--HERE IT TAKES ME TO ANOTHER SCREEN OF COMMAND PROMPT.ON SECOND SCREEN OF COMMAND PROMPT WHEN I RUN-
SQL>CONNECT SYS AS SYSDBA---IT GIVE ERROR INSUFFICIENT PRIVILEGES.
    PLEASE SUGGEST?????

SECONDLY ,WHEN I LOGON ON SQLPLUS SCREEN AS --SYS AS SYSDBA/ORACLE
IT ALLOWS ME TO LOG ON TO 9I DATABASE WHICH IS DEFAULT DATABASE.
AFTER SHUTDOWN OF DEFAULT DATABASE,I START CREATING A NEW TEST DATABASE AS UNDER-

    SQLPLUS>STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE='C:\....\INITTEST.ORA'...INSTANCE STARTS
    SQLPLUS>CREATE DATABASE COMMAND..
IT CREATES ALL FILES AND TABLESPACES BUT FINALLY GIVES ERROR...INVALID PASSWORD FILE....IT REFERS TO ORACLE PASSWORD FILE..?????

    ANY SUGGESTION?WHERE I AM WRONG..?URGENT PLEASE..THANKS

For the first problem try to use connecting_string

For the second one there is problem with your password file.Try to create a new one as the old one for some reason is corruped.
