    Audit user incorrect password

    Hi,

On Oracle 8i how to set up an audit of a user. I need to track if user entered the password incorrectly few time. If that happens I would like to be notified preferable by email. Is it also possible to get computer name from where the user made the invalid password and under what operating system user ID they tried it? The users will probably using NT systems.

    Thanks in advance,

Look at by Session/By Access column in the document and setup your own method(some scripts or OEM) of reading audit trial and getting conveyed by email.

    Hi,

    I tried:

audit by access whenever not successful

But error message I am getting:
ORA-00956: missing or invalid auditing option

    I also, tried:
audit by access on user_ID whenever not successful

But I got the same error message.
    What is the correct syntax?

    Thanks in advance,
