need help creating new db...

Hi, Newbie to Oracle here...I have 9I running, and from the Enterprise Manager Console I am trying to create a new database into which I wish to import data I have in a SQL database. I can't seem to be able to create a new database....what am I missing???

Would you mind giving some more information like what error message you are getting? Use Database Configuration Assistant, Much easier that way.

Thank you for your reply.
I was not really receiving any error messages, other than if I had the existing database selected and went to the Objects menu>Create it would tell me there are no active sessions.
Anyway, I used the Database Configuration Assistant as you suggested and am in the process of creating a new database as I write this, thank you.
Sorry if I was not clear with exactly what I needed in my post...as I said, I am totally new to Oracle and pretty much flying by the seat of my pants.
