replication

Hi ,

we have a setup of replication in 8.0.5 as single master defenition site and 4 snapshot sites .

our requirement is to add two new snapshot site in 8.1.7 release.

is it possible? (with mastersite as older version and othersite as new version database)

if so is there any restriction for that?will replication work fine in this setup?

It is possible. Try it out. You should'nt have any issues.

u should be careful while considering some datatypes like LONG as they are not supported by 8.0.5 and 8.1.7 while doing replication.u can check out the following link for further information.Alo search on this forum u will have lot of discussions on this topic.

Thats true Long is not supported for replication for both the versions u referred.

It is possible for the versions u asked for.i have a snapshot of 8.1.7
while the master is 8.1.5
