    Post I'm lost

    Hello guys,
    Yes I'm lost.
I have a good knowledge about SQL and relational databases, but when it comes to Oracle - and actually I've never used oracle - I get lost, I feel that oracle is an ocean and I'm lost inside it, I hear about oracle system management, oracle dba, oracle server, oracle portals, etc..

Please someone tells me what are these things, and if I want to learn oracle, where shall I start?

Please help the lost man (I should've called myself lostman, not devgalaxy)

    Thanks

I would recommend a steady diet of caffeine, barbiturates and Rogaine.

Don't listen to Mr.Hanky - the most important is stay healthy with a balanced and varied diet - so find a place that does 14 different kinds of pizza

As a beginner, I'd suggest you to start with the OTN documentation. The doumentation's are very elaborated and are much more informative than the oracle press books. And u could also do google searches on diffrent topics, as there is an ocean of information available online.....

    Have fun!!

    I said..
Do not get confused with 10s of oracle products.
Start with SQL and PL/SQL, rest of them will be easy.

Yeah, start with object-oriented database and nested tables.

devgalaxy, don't get put off! We're not laughing at you! This bunch of wierdo's, with a warped sense of humo(u)r, are just saying "Hi - Welcome".
