DBV like utility for Unix

Is there any similar utility like DBV in Unix (HP,AIX) to check the health of any/all files in OS.Or is there any other way of checking for possible corruptions at the OS level.

dbverify or DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM init.ora param. If you use RMAN this is done automatically
