new release after Oracle 9i
We are going to certify our application with Oracle 9i database. Before we do it, we want to know if Oracle already had plan for next release (Oracle 10i?). If Oracle is going to have a new release soon, we may want to wait till the new release come into the world.
Any info or idea is appreciated?

Another angle would be to "certify" with the terminal release of 9i rather than the first release of 10i.
That way, you can benefit from the work that has been done to patch the various irregularities or anomolies (bugs).

Yes, answer is Oracle is working on 10i, and certify your product to most recent and stable product, don't wait for the next release.

Oracle 10i is due out in May-June 2003.

Every one has given thier valuble input, so i would also like to add one.
The next release after 9i may or may not be 10i. i.e. the code name or the release name may or may not be 10i, it can be something else also, thats an internal news
And yes one piece of advice from experience, you should never upgrade your applications to the latest release without testing because they came with lots of bugs.
First test your applications (raise tars for problems) till the time you are sure that your application won't collapse. So by the time you finish testing you will have lots of patches available for the possible problems and may be new patched version may be available by then

December!
And now internally then don't call it 10i but DB2003.

You mean this part: "The database was Oracle 10i running on 'Red Hat Linux Advanced Server for the Itanium Processor."
May be they got some alpha version? I don't think so.
The report
http://www.tpc.org/results/individua...rx5670C-es.pdf
is dated November 12th, 2002. There was no alpha version available then.
