Thread: needs more recovery to be consistent

    I get this error when i tried from sqlplus.

    Enter user-name: sys as sysdba
    Enter password:
    ERROR:
    ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress



    **** Logged in as internal and tried and recd the error:..*****

    ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01507: database not mounted

    i open the database and now it is pointing to
    ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
    ORA-01110: datafile1 d:\...\system.dbf

    i dont know what to say here....

    Raise a TAR.

    if you have a backup then restore it. if not then you can say goodbye to your database.

    I hope this is not your prod db

    Thanks for the support. this is not prod DB. i am re-creating the DB.

    I guess .This is one of the nice example for the disaster happended due to not enabling archive log, right? or having cold backup.

    Hi

    This thread has really got me curious..can anybody tell me how do i reproduce his situation at my home ...i would like to know the steps in how we can reproduce this problem
