    Client install

    Hi,

I am trying to install the oracle client on one of the terminal servers, but the installation just flickers and disappears. As the requirement is very urgent,

Can I copy the oracle_home directory (Client) and copy to this terminal server. Does just copying all the files/folders to another NT box will help making another 'Install'

    Please let me know.

you could try starting the install using the disk1\install\win32\setup.exe program.

Also it's a long shot, but try renaming the file symcjit.dll (search for it in the install directories) to symcjit.dlz.

are you installing it from the control panel using the add/remove tool? If not, make sure you swith your environment to install mode before running the setup program with the following command.

    CHANGE USER /INSTALL

    then run the setup.exe program.

What version of Oracle client are you installing?

symcjit.dll is a symantec java dll that does not work well with P4's. The install will run without it, but it's a long shot that it applies to your problem.
