    The problem is it's a 26 table outer join. I suspect you should be happy with only 2 minutes of query time...

    I'd nominate this query for Fox's new special "When Bad SQL Attacks..."

    Yep. Probably this is record number of sort-merge loops,
    that i have seen.

    thanks for the responses. I realize that there are 26 table outerjoins.unfortunately this query is generated by Crystal Reports. Monday, we have a call with the vendor who wrote this query. Can you please give me suggestions on what to tell the vendor - as far as what type of changes they need to make?

    I am also including my report.txt as well.

    It's simple, the query needs to change. I haven't the slightest idea HOW the query should change because I don't know anything about the application.

    can you pls look at the report.txt and see everything is ok and if you can make recomendations?

    Jeff had said to u :
    U have to change select statment.
    Statspack report cannot solve this problem at all.
