1 connect generate many sessions
Hi all,
I found that there are many sessions created on server when 1 developer use sqlplus to connect to DB. and other users could not connect because max_sessions exceeded. when this user logout , all related sessions were ended and others can use normally.
this doesn't happen everytime but intermittently.
any ideas to help prevent this ??
thank you.

Hi,
just one litlte idea,
what does the user in the SQL*PLUS-window?
starts the user longer running dba_jobs?
OR is he WORKING IN PARALLEL Query MODE, so one
Query causes many sessions ?

Parallel queries (or parallel DDL operations) do not create any additional sessions during executions. They merely spawn additional processes, but all those processes still run under the same original session. So this can not be the reason for any "MAX_SESSIONS exceeded" errors.
