OCP Backup and recovery test(8i)
I am preparing for Backup and recovery test. Is SYBAX is good enough to pass this test? I can not afford to buy ILT or Selftests.
Also, what is the pass score on this test? Thanks.

If you use SYBEX only for 8iB&R... you'll probably fail. The text is useless. Pick up Debbie Wong's Exam Cram for the exam.

Sybex B&R
While I found some of the Sybex books to be useful, the 8i B&R book is terrible. The author fills the book with pages of command line printouts and other useless filler. The subject matter and test questions do not capture the test matter very well. You will see questions on the test from material not in the book and you will have also memorized info not in the test. I found the Oracle Press book that covered all five tests to be more on target but not very deep. The Oracle University white books are very accurate but hard to come by if you did not go to Oracle Training. As usual, STS software is invaluable.

SYBEX books
How are these books for P&T and admin tests of 8i? Unlike B&R, can one rely on these books as major resource.
Please share your ideas, who passed(or failed) using this material.
Thanks.

I passed the Net Admin and P&T exams with Sybex.

The PT and Net Admin Sybex books are pretty good. I would feel comfortable sitting for the exam with those. My only real complaint about the series was B&R.
