OCP 8i or 9i you choose?
I am attending oracle 8i ocp class and i got free to attend 9i class. so i am preparing for ocp exams. But should i go for 9i or 8i. Which one is easier to pass? oracle 8i then take the upgrade exam to 9i or straight away take 9i exams? Since i heard that oracle 9i performance tuning is deadly. many people have trouble passing PT paper? They are suggesting to take 8i then upgrade exam...
Which path do you take?

It's not about which one is easier to pass, if you are newbie then go for 9i. If you are experienced then go for 8i. Also you need to think whether a cert can get you a job nowdays and future.

As guru_heaven said, neither is "EASIER" than the other. Actually, if you have NO Oracle DBA expeirence you're going to get VERY confused VERY quickly. You need practical exp.

I would mix it up. Take 2 exams for 8i and 2 exams for 9i. Then you have a good start on both.

Why do you suggest for 9i if i am a newbie to oracle.
i have some experience in oracle though not so in depth. is it because 9i have less exam papers? easier? i dont know... please suggest...
What is the best OCP material to study? sybex or oracle press?

Robby, there's been many-a-debate re: Sybex v Oracle Press, do a search on "SYBEX" and it should return some interesting reading. Let me try... 10 pages of threads to be precise.
