Confused about what Ocp track to take
Hi,
I began by learning Sql & now I am trying to decide what track to take. I read a previous tread "If you were starting your Ocp today , Which track would you start with". Per the discussion the majority suggested 8i but I want to be sure that I am taking the most favorable track at this time. Any kind of advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Its worth spending time on certification forum threads (from past 3 months) to make a decision. Consolidate the ideas given by all others with respect to your scenario. This decisions are more personal front, how comfortable one feels with overall Oracle technology. Its difficult to answer on others behalf... in one shot (Q&A form)

Sreddy, thanks for your advice. I am current reading an 8i PL/SQL book & I plan to practise what I learn by setting up a test server. what book would recommend (or other sites) for beginners like me.

Here is an estimate of the costs. What you choose to use and what your company will pay is up to you.
5 exams (for 8i) at $100 each (with discount code)
4 exams (for 9i) plus one required ILT
Prep material - books
Prep material - software (where applicable)
Prep material - practice tests (where applicable)
Prep material - server to install Oracle and practice (where applicable)
Time to prepare and take tests.
The payoff is probably dependent on the amount of experience you have and your job market.
