Unhappy OCP : Most useful material

    Folks -

I am about to start writing my OCPs for Oracle 9i but am bit confused
as to what is the best and most useful material for the preparation of so.

I know we have lot many OCPians on this forums then any where else !

Could I ask to you kindly respond in the poll to help me and others to use the proper materials.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

Well you call yourself an oracle database architect, you must know what it's all about. Why waste time on an ocp
    I personally have.......
    read oracle pdf manuals.
And used sts to practice before taking the exams.

Why you Tarry waste your time on OCP, like you says?
Why you take that certificate when you tell to others do not take it?

Rado read Tary's post more carefully,

He was referring to kavithavankat suggested status as an Oracle Database Architect. A position which already suggests an in depth knowledge of the product and a significant level of experience!

If that is true an OCP isn't goin to add much and the individual should already know that ILTs are the best study material although costly.

Besides, a quick search of this forum would have given the answer.

Sorry if I stole your thunder Tarry

    Cheers

    Nick

    May be you are right.
I apologize to Tarry if he means that!
No one can't add Oracle title after his name if he don't have idea about ILT's

Well my vote goes to ITL simply because it is a known FACT that 98% (or thereabouts) of the OCP questions can be found in there.

The problem with this "survey" is that I really doubt anyone has used all these materials. For me the combo of ILT and STS was all that was necessary.

If I had to pick one it would be ILT, hands down. Although I think STS should be seriously considered too.

I wuz lookin' for my blowtorch, nick

    And Rado,

Building a database and designing it to perform the way it should and knowing exactly what it will do when and why will it do that, is the job of a database architect.
That's an amazing job, you call yourself whatever you are, you better be able to vouch for it. because if you run into someone like me, you're in for some real shredding.
And talking about ILT, i'll tell you. It's great stuff to pass you exam and share you nice scores here on the forum.

It was a sincere advice to kavitha, well if she's really an database architect, then she really doesn't need that ocp. And it sounds pretty contradictory when you're distributing "nicely compiled 9i material" on the other thread

Database Architect is the new trendy title for a DBA. Of course a database archiecht should know a lot about relationship theory and normalization, etc. but nowadays many guys who can play with Oracle like to call themselves database architects. Although half of them probably cannot define the concepts of relation or Cartesian product :-)
