    rman sbt errors

My backups have started failing intermittently with sbt errors
It will fail on allocating channels, sometimes the first, sometimes the third. Usually, but not always I can start another backup session immediately after one fails and it will run successfully.
    Any ideas?

The database in on NT 4.0 version 8.1.7
The omniback client resides on NT 4.0 version 4.1

    Re: rman sbt errors

    NT :-)

Stop the Oracle Services on NT and restart for the backup to tape to take effect again.

    Tell me if this helped.

While I didn't do this I did have the NT box rebooted so the services would have been stopped and restarted. The backup did work last night for the first time in 5 nights. It's very strange. The strange part for me is that the schedualed backup will fail but I can turn around two minutes later and kick off a backup and it will run.

    Any other ideas?
    Thanks
