What are the basic scripts needed to maintain a DB
Hi All,
I just started handling dba responsibilities and I'm in an environment where Oracle is only a year old, and so there are no "dba scripts" in place.
I would like to know how a DB is maintained using scripts. We run Oracle 11.5.7 on Solaris. I see there are a few backup scripts but no scripts which notify a dba of disk space problems or indexes or rollback segments info.
Any feedback is appreciated.
thanks in advance

There are plenty of sites which offer such scripts (including this one), I've listed a few below:
www.dbasupport.com
www.dbaclick.com
www.oracle-base.com
and of course my own
www.ocp-dba.co.uk
It is always a good idea to make sure you read through and try and understand what the script is doing, to make sure you are getting the results you want.
Good luck

Any Standard monitoring scripts that come with Oracle Apps
Jovery,
Thank you for your response. I like your website - very informative.
I know that autoconfig creates scripts to startup Concurrent Manager, Reports server, Forms server etc., which is adstrtal.sh. Are there any standard db or OS (unix) monitoring scripts that come with Oracle Apps installation?
