    How many Agents do you have??
    you said you have two ORACLE_HOME so, i assume that you have two intelligent agents...

    if one is already running then you need not start the other...

    just check the files in network log... and check for any errors related to snmp...

    connect start listener from oem9i ,it displays

    why so much confusion ??

    why not use the listener of ora9i home...

    just edit the listene.ora of ORA9iHOME and make an entry for the oem repository and point it to the OEM home...

    and the start the listener for ORA9iHOME...

    --------------------------

    and if you want to keep diff. listeners the change the name of one of the listeners and port.

    RTFM

    HI,

    I have started the listener sucessfully . Kindly Check my LISTENER.ORA

    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hontsit-test)(PORT = 1521))
    )

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = hmdw.world)
    (ORACLE_HOME = E:\ORA9I)
    (SID_NAME = hmdw)
    )
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = hmdw.world)
    (ORACLE_HOME = E:\OEM9I)
    (SID_NAME = hmdw )
    )
    )

    the repository is in same db "HMDW" located in e:\ora9i

    I could not get the solution for starting Agent. when i say AGENTCTL
    it gives

    "Unable to access snmp_ro.ora file

    Thanx in Adv

    If its one database the keep the listener to

    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hontsit-test)(PORT = 1521))
    )

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = hmdw.world)
    (ORACLE_HOME = E:\ORA9I)
    (SID_NAME = hmdw)
    )
    )

    and start the agent for ORA9I not for OEM

    have you hardcoded TNS_ADMIN any where.

    cos snmp_ro.ora should get generated automatically when you try to start the agent...

    and r u sure that no agent is running.... i mean neither ORA9I agent nor OEM Agent ??
