    Oracle Licenses problem ..

    Hello all..

We have Oracle 9.2 Installed on our Test and Production Boxes on Sun 5.8. My manager wants to know the following info.

    Question is

1)can we have unlimited users and databases if we purchase the license per processes ?
    2) If we purchase per user, can we still have unlimited databases and processes ?..

    Thanks
    Ron

Your production and development boxes will be licensed seperately.

Licensing by processor will give you the ability to have unlimited databases and users.

Licensing by user will give you a specific number of users on any number of databases. There is a minimum number of users per processor. For example, if you have a 4 cpu box but only 15 users, you may have to buy more than 15 user licenses to satisfy the minimum requirements.

As always with licensing questions, your Oracle Sales rep is the best source of information.
