    Problem in DBCA/DBMA..

    Hi,

    Database Config.Assistant and Mig.Assistant are not displaying
    when i try to run it . What could be the reason ?

    I checked batch files of those tools in d:\ora9i\bin and it
    gives "NoClassFoundError" . How to solve it ?

    immediate reply is requested.
    Thanx in Adv

    jre

    These are java tools and you need to have the java runtime environment included in the PATH.

    The location of dbca and dbma are not the important point.

    You need to set the jre in your PATH.

    Could you post the setting of your PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH variables?

    1. First, did your software installation success?
    If you used typical installation of 9i software, DBCA should be automatically kicked on during installation.
    2. If manually issue $DBCA, make sure your environment (X-win) is setting correctly (export DISPLAY etc).
    3. Our setting
    PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/local/bin:.
    export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$ORACLE_HOME/network/lib; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
