    rman

    Oracle 9i R2
    Linux RedHat 8.0

I type rman and nothing happens
    ($Oracle_home/bin is included in path).

    ???

if I type rman target / as sysdba I get the message:
    rman: can't open target

    in W2k it works.

    what should be the problem?

    1) Have you login in as oracle in linux?
    2) Have you set oracle enviorment correctly?
    (like ORACLE_HOME, Path etc)
    3) Are you able to connect sqlplus?

    hi,
in LINUX there is one OS binary by name RMAN.

Search the file and rename it to something else and try. It should work.
